Update

Hey,
It's been ages since I posted and I've been waiting to add some pictures to the blog but I need to do that from my home computer. Well... it seems that whenever I'm home I am asleep. At the moment I'm at work and done with my chemotherapy and charting so here is the update. The counter for my daily visits (not necessarily readership) has dwindled down to 2 so, both of you, tell your friends: I'm going to be better. So much has happened in the last few months and I'm excited to share!
In the months following the Instinct cover coming out things have been really fun... busy but fun.
I had a couple of parties for the Instinct cover. One was a GLBT Expo Kick-off party thrown by Instinct. They asked me to come since I was the cover model that month. It was kind of overwhelming... there was a 5 foot poster of the cover outside HK Lounge... my head was 4 feet tall! Fortunately my friends Chris, Adam, and Scott came by to enjoy the party with me. We had a lot of fun. I met several of the directors at Instinct including Chris Jones, Director of Marketing and Marcus Reynaga, Director of Sales. They were great and welcomed me into the Instinct family.
The 2nd party was one thrown by my friend Dave Adams at Splash for my friends. It was great!! So many of my friends came. It was wonderful to have so many people I care about in one place at one time. The surprise of the night was that my step-father came! It was such a fantastic surprise and so great of him to come all the way from Massachusetts to support me... that's really how he is though. It made me very happy. :)
Since I was on the March issue, the May issue of Instinct did a follow up. They had pictures from the Kick-off party and from the party at Splash (shot by Dave Adams himself.) They had one extra photo from the shoot with Frank Louis (in 2(x)ist underwear - picture below). They also had several letters from readers about the cover and story which were very sweet and flattering and some were kind of funny.

A few of my friends have asked if I get recognized a lot... the answer is No. Never. Honestly, I don't really think I look the same in person as I do in photos... oh well. :)

I've been working at the hospital a lot in addition to sporadic castings. I'm working on buying a co-op in Chelsea now so need to work a lot. I'll update on that later... it's been crazy. Also coming up; what's going on at Ford, Nurse Jackie Premier, Trevor Project NYC charity event, and the private yacht trip. So, stay tuned! :)

FORD Models

So....
I went to see FORD and Wilhelmina modeling agencies on Tuesday. Wilhelmina was first and it was to be seen for their Promo and Runway board. I wasn't as enthusiastic about that board as opposed to a print board but I was enthusiastic about Wilhelmina. So, I went and spoke to one of the agents, who looked at my book, took my information, and took some snap shots. I felt like it went fine but wasn't too excited about it.
When I left Wilhelmina I figured I would check and see if I could get in to be seen at FORD. So I called the agent whom I'd been emailing and said I was in the neighborhood and if he could see me. He agreed and I met with him. He was very friendly and seemed to like my book! He brought it in the back (they leave you in this central waiting room while they decide your fate out of site in mysterious places at that only the prettiest people can go). Soon after another agent came out to speak with me and he also seemed to like my book and he gave me information to fill out... contact info, measurements, etc. Then I met with a THIRD agent for more of the same. They took some snap shots and commented that the snap shots were good and that they would let me know.
Well, on Wednesday I emailed them a thank you note and they responded with an offer to sign with them!!! Now I'm scrambling to get my portfolio files to them. They are going to put me on their site and I get a FORD book and comp card!
I'm very very excited... now let's hope that I get all kinds of amazing work through them!!

As if in response to my excitement I went into work at the hospital that night... which is a good thing. Like I say, it keeps me grounded. So, last night I worked on the Burn Unit... it's like the universe was working to keep me humble... which I'm very happy about. I usually hate that unit but I had really great patients and it was really not bad. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. The patients expressed gratitude for the care I offered them which makes me feel good... that maybe I do make a difference to someone. (Not to get all hippy dippy though)

This pic is one of my main headshots... hope you like it. I'll add more photos over time... so stay tuned. ;)

Update

Hey,
Quick update... Things have been so great since the March Instinct Magazine came out! I've heard so much support from family, friends, and people I've just met! I'm looking forward to a party this Monday to celebrate the cover. Instinct has asked me to do a signing at the GLBT Expo here in NYC. I'm really excited about that as well.
I went to see Wilhelmina Models and Ford Models today. There seemed to be some interest so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! We'll see how that works out and if not then I'll just keep on plugging at getting some representation. I'm tired of freelance... it's exhausting.
Oh, my friend Allison and I went on a trek through the snow to find the magazine and in the mean time I found the 2 romance novel covers I'm on!! I posted one a little while ago but I also found the "Bare Nerve" one. These were done by George Kerigan.
Tomorrow night I go back to reality and work at the hospital which will be good. It keeps me grounded and humble, which I think is key.
Have a great week, all. I'll do the same and keep you posted!

Instinct Magazine Cover

Hey,
I know I haven't posted in a very long time... which means there is probably no one reading this anymore. I will be better about it in the future. I took a little break from modeling which turned out to be a good idea. I'm on the March cover of Instinct Magazine shot by Frank Louis! It hits the stands March 2nd and there is an online version up now. The actual magazine has a bunch more pictures so... maybe it's worth a look. ;)

I've been enjoying south Florida for the past 6 weeks and just got back to NYC. It's great to be back in the rush of the city and with my friends but, I'm not gonna lie, the cold still sucks. I've been so out of touch, I have no idea what is going on in the world right now. 6 weeks of Beach, wine, and Netflix will do that to a person. I'm gonna get on Google reader and fix that. (Anyone who uses Google reader... add my blog!) I did watch President Obama's Congressional Address... good times and hopefully more to come.

That's all I'm gonna post for now but there have been a few other projects which I'll post later... right now the cover is fun!
