I clearly have a problem...

I clearly have a problem following through on certain things. I have an impressive list of excuses about why I have this problem, ranging from "I'm a New Yorker" to "I'm an Aries" to "I'm a spaz", well, truth be told, it doesn't really matter. I'm going to try once again to blog after being inspired by my friend Allison Mosier's blog!

One thing I did follow through on was doing Naked Boys Singing! That's right. I took a leave from work at my hospital, subleased my apartment, and moved to Provincetown, MA to sing naked 6 nights a week. The short answer to every one's question "How was it?" is "I'm very happy I did it and I'm very happy I never have to do it again." I had a great time in good ole Ptown singing my bare ass off but it's not an easy gig and it was hard to be away from NYC, my friends, and family for so long. Living with 5 other boys in a 3 bedroom apt was also an adjustment after living alone for a very long time.
The reason I say I'm very glad I did it is because I learned a lot in the process. It wasn't always easy but that's what made the experience worth the effort, right? It certainly enriched my life in ways I am still understanding.
How's that for existential?!?! And you thought it was all about prancing around in the buff!

... it was a good time

Now that I'm back in NYC and working at my hospital again I'm enjoying settling back into my life with a new and improved attitude. I'm back to taking gymnastics when my aches and pains are at a low roar. I've also taken up silks... as in the Cirque du Soleil kind. It's very fun and reasonably challenging. At the moment I'm nursing my first circus related injury. I couldn't find my tights before class and ended up getting a rope burn on the back of my leg because my sweat pants were riding up in comical but dangerous ways. It's kind of a long story that is more thrilling when demonstrated than explained in writing. I will leave it to your imagination.

Since I got back to the city I have performed at XES Lounge for Fabreezia's Couch. I sang three songs and had a great time!!! I hope to make future appearances there as I work on new material.

As far as future endeavors go; I am working on some music to perform at the famous Birdland Jazz Club for Jim Caruso's Cast Party as well as some duet/trio work to perform with my voice teacher Chris Fasulo.

I will leave off there for now and perhaps play catch up with a mixture of updates and back story in the future posts... of which I'm sure there will many! In the meantime, check out the NBS-ptown page on facebook.com to see the promo shots for the show!
